Shinjuku and Kabukicho Evening Walking Tour.  Discover the infamous back alleys, drinking dens and street food of Tokyo’s Shinjuku and Kabukicho neighborhoods. Experience a visual and culinary feast of sensations as you go along. This evening journey into Tokyo’s interesting neon underbelly is a fantastic opportunity to dig much deeper into the legendary nightlife and food culture of contemporary Japan.

Connect with your guide in the early evening at the Tokyo tourist information center Shinjuku, then move on to the shopping part of Shinjuku, where you can discover the area’s mish-mash of trendy stores and engaging merchants of subculture trends. Pay a visit to the Suehirotei Vaudeville Theater, one of the country’s most exclusive, just before carrying on to the Hanazono Shrine, to enjoy its candle-lit interior and buildings, which dates to the mid-17th century.

Golden Gai, a fun-filled area on the eastern side of Shinjuku

Which is home to countless tiny bars, and can hold not more than a handful of customers. After that continue your walk with a stop by at Kabuchiko district, home to a warren of alleys brimming with Japanese “salary men” in black suits on the hunt for food, drink as well as other entertainment of the night. The air is heavy with the chants of touts aiming to entice customers behind the sealed doors of this area’s numerous risqué establishments.

Conclude your tour with a stop by Omoide Yokocho a beautiful street lined with traditional wooden shacks, which are home to many different restaurants and bars. It’s a sample of old-world Tokyo from the 1940s, a period when the area’s dimly-lit streets were packed with black marketeers and intrigue. Go ahead and take pleasure in drinks or an evening meal at one of the many dining places at your own enjoyment.
